Dairy-free Blackberry Smoothie

Our favorite time of the year is finally here, fresh berry season! Lighten up your day with a quick and easy lunch that’s stuffed with healthy nutrients.

Don’t let their size fool you, Blackberries pack a powerful punch full of antioxidants, vitamins A, K and C, and a healthy dose of fiber.

I prefer to make all of my smoothies with frozen fruits, the added texture gives a fantastic consistency to these drinks and it’s just too convenient having all of your ingredients always at the ready!

If you’re out picking fresh berries at the farm or happen to snag some on a summer walk, they’ll add a delicious, fresh sweetness to the drink. Just make sure to add in a half-cup of ice (or more, to your taste) so you’re not blending this delicious smoothie treat into a fruity soup!

Looking for an extra punch of essential vitamins? A Handful of spinach is an easy way to sneak in a low calorie source of vitamin A, C and K without adding a ton of flavour to your drink!

Make your smoothie a bit nutty with an ounce of crushed almonds. Aside from adding a bit of texture and delicious flavour, these little nuggets are high in fiber and protein as well as providing a much needed dose of magnesium.

  • 1 1/2 cup frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 banana


  1. Add blackberries, banana, honey and almond milk to blender.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Garnish with fresh blackberries and coconut flakes if desired.
